FSC Coaching

The Franciscan Soccer Club views coaching as top priority. People who coach in our organization meet an FSC Coaching profile that helps us attain and retain the type of people we want working with our young players. Coaching is teaching, and in a competitive organization, one must know what to teach and how to teach it in order to help children accelerate their skill.

The Franciscan SC strongly beleives that people who coach at the competitive level must have a high level playing background in order to teach young players all of the nuances about soccer that will help them accelerate at the game. People who coach our Select level teams must have a minimum of Top Amateur or Professional level playng background in addtion to holding the U.S.S.F. D Level Certification. They must also interview with the FSC. The FSC has several ways for people to get involved in coaching from Instructional Trainers, to Player Evaluators, to Select Club Team level.

We are looking for the type of person who is passionate about the game but knowledgeable as well. They should be friendly, social, and responsible. Our coaches work with children who want to aspire at the game, so we beleive that they deserve someone training them who is going to be able to teach them the advanced techniques which can help them achieve their fullest playing potential.

FSC Mission
The mission or the Franciscan Soccer Club is to foster participation and advancement in the sport to all St Louis and surrounding area youth and adults; as players, coaches or volunteers.

FSC Club Team Coaching Overview.

The FSC has developed policies for its coaches to follow so that our player develop system can operate in the best interest of the players. FSC beleives that coaching at Competitive/Select Club takes upon a different meaning than training REC level teams. FSC believes that coaching in a Club means that there should be a system of management which is followed by everyone so that the organization can best serve the children participating, and the Club can meet its goals. This means that coaches should feel that the Club philosophy matches or aligns with their philosphy about developing young players and servicing the parents who are paying for the education.

Coaches are expected to complete the FSC Coaching Applicaton, interview, and sign the FSC Coaches Agreement drafted to protect the organzation and the coach. All coaches are expected to follow the itineraries set up for the player's seasons, attend and contribute at any meetings scheduled. We are role models, which means we are exemplary to everyone of how we feel a high level coach should act. We are respectful of all people, including all coaches and parents outside the organziation. We attend games and training sessions in a timely way. We are team, which means we are in uniform at all training sessions and games so that the community can see we project a unified image. We are friendly and social people too!
